What?
eXpose eXchange! For the third time toXpose.com is organizing a global double eXposed film eXchange!
Global?
Yes! Global! toXpose.com has members from all over the world. And they go to places where you probably will not go. But toXpose.com is giving you the opportunity to get your film eXposed at those places!
Double eXpose?
Yes! Double eXposed! Your film won’t be eXposed once, but twice! Once by you and once by another toXpose.com member at the other side of the globe.

Film?
Yes! Film! Though we live in the digital era, film still is a beautiful medium. And film is the ideal medium for all our fellow toXposers around the world to interact with one another!
In this case 135 colour negative or colour reversal (slide) film. This is the regular film format that most consumer cameras (including the LC-A, Russian Rangefinders, Olympus XA series, etc.) use.
eXchange?
Yes! eXchange! Buy your film, shoot your film and send your film to someone else across the ocean. He/she will receive your film, shoot your film, develop your film and upload your photos at toXpose.com forum.
And you'll also receive a roll of film from someone else thousand miles away!
How?
Well it is all quite simple. You load a roll of fresh film in any 35mm camera and start shooting whatever you like. When your film is finished, rewind the film, but try to make sure it's not completely rewound such that the film leader remains outside the film canister (just like when you get a new film). Seal the film and send it to your partner in crime(we'll match-make you)! He/she will use the same film to shoot again, develop and upload the double eXposed pictures at toXpose.com!
At the same time someone else will be doing the same thing and flying a film to you. You double exposed that film, develop it and upload the photos here!
Try to put a self portrait on the first 5 frames.
From who?
Simply sign up and we will make arrangement to inform you who you'll receive a film from and who you'll be sending your film to. You have to PM your address to the person that has to send a film to you.
Any tips?
For best results set your film speed one full stop down (for instance, if you use an ISO 100 film, set your camera ISO at 200).
Extra tip for better results: For fool-proof double exposures, the background should be dark. Dark buildings, dark wall, dark skies, dark *@#& create the best backgrounds for double exposures. Bright elements - neonlights, shining chrome, reflecting mirrors, bright sun - really jump out of the dark background. The first eXposer is recommended to shoot at night, indoors and huge dark buildings (which can form unidentified silhouettes for the second eXposer to project their images on).

No 120 spool/middle format this time?
No, we’re sorry. It is much more difficult as we expected it would be, so we stick to just 135 film this time.
Cross process or not?
Well, that is all up to you. But not everybody is able to get their film cross-processed. So please tell us when you sign up for the Expose eXchange Vol. II whether or not you want to cross-process your film.
When?
You can subscribe to the third eXpose eXchange till: 07 july 2005 >>> subscription is closed!
You will be asked for confirmation and have to confirm before: 14 July 2005
Send your film before: 31 July 2005
Develop and upload before: 15 september 2005

Also I work in a photo-lab. Which makes things easy for me! (The shop doesn't offer x-pro but I can get it done for my own films/friends) |
